A catch-all feature that is enabled for a specific mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. In other words, if you disable an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any mistyped address under the exact same domain, you will receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial in case you are running a company, for example. Since you may start receiving spam, you can use the catch-all feature with anti-spam filtering software in order to receive only legitimate messages in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting
In case you’ve got a Linux cloud website hosting service
with us and you want to activate the catch-all functionality for a specific e-mailbox that you have in your account, it will take literally only a click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can select one address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be enabled without any difficulty in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server
account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will find a small-size symbol handily situated right next to each of them. With just a click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable the feature using the contextual menu that will come into view. In case any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
