Any time you add a domain as hosted in some account, you usually set a pair of Name Servers to direct it to that specific company. On their end, three records are set up automatically when the Internet domain is added - one A record and two MX records. The former is a numeric address, or IP address, which “tells” the domain where its site is, while the other two are alphanumeric and they reveal the server that handles the e-mails for that specific Internet domain. The site and the email hosting are typically regarded as one thing, when they're in fact two different services. Having different records for them will allow you to have them with different companies if you would like. As an example, some new company might have excellent uptime for your website, but you might not want to switch your emails from your current host and by using an A record to point the domain to the former and MX records to have the emails with the second, you will get the best of both companies. These records are checked when you wish to open a site or send an e-mail - in any case, the company whose name servers are used for the Internet domain will be contacted to retrieve the A and MX records and if you have set records different from their own, the right web/mail server will then be contacted and you are going to see the needed website or your e-mail is going to be delivered.
Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Website Hosting
With a cloud website hosting
plan from our company, you'll be able to set up or modify the A and MX records of your domains and subdomains effortlessly using our sophisticated Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Modifying the default records takes 2 clicks and the creation of a new record takes just a couple of more clicks, so although you may have never dealt with such matters, you won't encounter any problems. We've got an in depth help section that makes things even easier. If you want to switch your e-mail provider and you have to create several MX records in addition to the default 2, you can pick their priority i.e. which record will handle your emails first when someone sends you a message. Usually the new provider will tell you what these values should be. With our shared plans, you're going to have full control over your domain addresses and subdomains and you are going to be able to handle their A and MX records easily and at any time.
Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Accessing and changing the A or MX records for each of your domain addresses or subdomains is very easy if you get a semi-dedicated server
plan through our company. The accounts are managed through our in-house built Hepsia CP, which features a section devoted to the DNS records of your domain addresses. The latter will be listed alphabetically and you could click on any of them to see both the A and the MX records. Changing any record will be as easy as entering the new one in a text box and saving the change, so even if you have never dealt with such matters before, you won't encounter any difficulties if you decide to point your website or e-mails to an alternative provider while keeping the second service with our company. If required, you may also set up additional MX records and set a certain priority based on the recommendations of the new provider.
